The Democrats quoted a study showing Massachusetts residents spent $900 million at casinos in Connecticut in 2005. Muray said continuing to forgo a share of that revenue is unwise as the state cuts up to $3 billion from its current budget, and maybe $3.5 billion from the budget that begins July 1.
"Even if we pick up $700 million from that, we would all take that," Murray told an audience of business leaders at a Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce breakfast.
"My staff is going to hate me for doing this, but - 'cha-ching,'" said Senator Murray.
