The meeting with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is set for May 6.

SugarHouse’s hearing is scheduled for after the board meeting, which begins at 11 a.m. Regulators will accept both oral and written comments from the public.

Casino executives are seeking approval for a revised plan that would allow it to open a modified version of the casino sooner than previously planned.

Developers said earlier this month they are seeking government approval to open an interim casino that will commence operations sometime after April 1, 2010. The interim casino would be folded into the long-term plan for a larger casino.

Phase I would cost $650 million and have 3,000 slots, executives said.
