Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland is lobbying state lawmakers to labor around
the clock until a new multi-year budget is reached to replace the one
that expired the other week.
In a news conference today, the Democrat said Senate Republicans had lapsed into a “deafening silence” that is causing the current stalemate over Strickland’s proposal to put slot machines at horse racing tracks.

Republicans because of playing politics and failing to come up with a viable counter proposal to overcome a $3.2 billion deficit. Strickland said the slots plan would raise $933 million. Republicans say it has “fatal flaws”. Strickland said he shall stay at the statehouse and bring in food for lawmakers if needed.
